5. Self-Defense:
Muay Thai Kickboxing teach two forms of self-defense. One is physical, you will improve your strength, flexibility and overall health. Additionally, you will learn to strike with tremendous power and effectiveness. Hopefully you’ll never need to fight…But should the occasion arise, shouldn’t everyone know how to protect themselves? The second form of self-defense the Martial Art teach is internal. Our students learn to spot danger and avoid dangerous people, places and activities. Martial Arts can help you avoid the need for a physical confrontation. This second form of self-defense is perhaps the most valuable of the two.

“I thoroughly recommend Sean and Oregon Martial Arts across a wide spectrum – from someone just wanting to explore Martial Arts, to those looking for a new way to stay fit and even to people with experience wanting to take their training to a new level. Not only have I trained at OMA extensively under Sean, but both my wife and teenage daughter have also. Sean is a great guy. He’s really approachable, enjoys teaching and wants to see his students progress…but at a pace they are comfortable with. Again, I highly recommend Sean and his school Oregon Martial Arts.” - Jesse Connell
I have trained at omac for about a year. I’ve lost 18 lbs since I started. Sean(owner) has vast knowledge of Muay Thai and BJJ which he taught very well. The other instructors are always there to push you towards your next goal and make sure you have a great workout. The facility is top notch and well kept. I’ve never had any issues with it not being clean to my satisfaction. I feel omac has the best of both worlds, great instruction on stand up(muay Thai) and ground game(bjj). I highly recommend them for anyone beginner or advance to train in a very friendly environment with great instruction in what they have to offer if you live in the area. Sean is really working hard at keeping the training facilities up to date and always bringing a better instructional system in for varied training.- Aaron Rutland
I came to OMAC nervous, thinking i would be intimidated by everyone. But at OMAC, staff and members make you feel welcome and appreciated. They push your skills to bring out the best in you while always respecting your abilities. No matter your skill level, they fill you with confidence and self-esteem that goes a lot farther than just the gym. The classes are varying and they are all fun, thats what matters most. Everything is fun!! Thats what kept me there for so many years. You get into shape, learn skills, gain a hobby and gain self-confidence all while having fun. It doesn’t get any better. I can never repay everything OMAC has done for me.- Stephen
I have trained at omac for about 2yrs when I lived in Tigard Or and training there had been one of the best experiences of my life. Sean(owner) had vast knowledge of muay Thai and bjj which he taught very well. The facility is top notch and well kept never had any issues with it not being clean to my satisfaction. I would still be training there if I had not moved because of my job. I feel omac has the best of both worlds, great instruction on stand up(muay Thai) and ground game(bjj). I highly recommend them for anyone beginner or advance to train in a very friendly environment with great instruction in what they have to offer if you live in the area. -Alex Huynh

I have been attending Oregon martial arts since they opened, I attend the Muay Thai Kickboxing class taught by Sean, (the owner) he is a great instructor who has a lot skills and experience in what he does. I enjoy going there because there is a great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and motivates one another! instructors always have new techniques but also value old ones
I always leave with the feeling I had a great workout. As a girl I appreciate the cleanliness of the facility and respect of my fellow male classmates!! -Daniela Trujillo, High School Student
Oregon Martial Arts Club is a fantastic martial arts studio with professional and world class instruction. I have been training with OMAC on and off for 7 years and have never been disappointed. Over the years I have taken classes at numerous studios and yet I always find myself back with OMAC. If you want to learn Muay Thai and Jujitsu, get a great workout, and have fun doing it, Oregon Martial arts is the place for you. -Miles Lawson
In this first year of training at Oregon Martial Arts, I’ve lost 50lbs and been in the best shape I’ve been for some time (so much so that I completed my first half marathon and another race with two more coming this summer), and I medaled twice in a local Jiu Jitsu competition…. and I have the excellent trainers, training partners, and new friends at OMA to thank for that!
The instruction is excellent, you’ll be pushed physically and technically by people who really want to see you succeed. This is a school that has little use for big egos, and has something to offer students of all ranges. They also participate in many of the area seminars when experts present focused training sessions. My kids have visited while I trained, and if we lived closer, I would gladly enroll them in the youth classes and I know they would love it. I can’t recommend Oregon Martial Arts enough… and have to friends and family.

“Sean is a talented teacher and Martial Artist. He is an excellent motivator and very committed to his students and his school.” Kyoshi (Master Teacher) Dave Kovar Master Instructor of the Satori Academy in Sacramento, California
I joined OMAC with my wife as a focus on health and getting into shape, we achieved these goals and got so much more with the gain of Self Confidence and in personal safety with the knowledge of self-defense. At the time I joined, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol and through the months to follow with the training with Sean these conditions were removed from my life and my health and fitness occurred naturally without thinking twice about it. In a matter of months I lost over 30 lbs and lost 4 inches off my waist.
I would recommend that whether you are thinking about getting in better shape or learning a discipline in Muay Thai and / or Jujitsu to consider OMAC to help you achieve those. The side effects on getting healthy include feeling better, looking better, having a nicer appearance in your clothes, and the self-confidence in your every day life. Those are the things that I achieved and you can as well at OMAC, those are the things that you too will achieve if you decide to workout at OMAC that aren’t mentioned when deciding to join a Self-Defense Martial Arts Program.
Sean’s business style to allow you to try the program for 30 days free gives you the opportunity to feel the benefits before making the commitment. Give Sean a call today to schedule your program. I am glad I did.

My entire family has attended classes at Oregon Martial Arts including Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and the Tiny Tigers kids program. Sean has a great ability to communicate with students and establish a professional and well run program – whether he teaching adults, teens, or 4-year olds. His classes are fun, informative, and are a great way to get in shape. I’d HIGHLY recommend both Sean personally, and Oregon Martial Arts for anyone wanting to get started in martial arts, or to continue a program they’ve already started.” -Geoff Thomsen www.flatchicken.com
